With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Martha Wickliffe Jones, our loving and devoted mother, and friend to all whose lives she touched.

She left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence at the Harbor at Harmony Crossing in Eatonton, GA on March 17, 2024, she was in her 94th year. She was a wonderful mother, had many friends, and was a well-loved member of the Greensboro community.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Pamela Dawson.

Martha was the beloved wife of Mike M. Jones for 74 years. Much loved mother of Michael Jones and Tina Howell (Tim).

Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Steve), Natalie (John), Anna (Josh), Laura, David (Dorothy), and Savannah. Great grandmother to Nikki (Trenton), Ansley, Kayla, Christopher, Dorothy, Lily & Avery, and Asher. And great-great-grandmother to Dawson.

Dear sister of Nita Carol Wright. Mother lived a full life. She had many projects and groups she volunteered with and served faithfully.

The Daughters of the American Revolution, Scull Shoals Mill's historic village, served in many ways at their home church Greensboro Methodist as well.

After retiring, she and her beloved husband enjoyed traveling all over the world.

Constantly learning more about the world around her as well as sharing her faith and caring heart with new friends.

While her children were growing up, she actively volunteered to sew costumes for plays and serve on PTA’s. Always supporting her children and husband with their dreams and goals. Mother was a wonderful teacher for 22 years, she guided so many children to reach for the stars and live out their God-given potential.

She will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on through her family through the strong values and sense of service to others instilled by her to them with love.

Visitation will be held at McCommons Funeral Home, Wednesday, March 27th at 10-11 am, and the funeral service will be held in the chapel at McCommons Funeral Home at 11:00 am.
