Pastors unite for National Day of Prayer

Fifteen pastors, or their last-minute substitutes, gathered at Lakepoint Community Church to pray together asking God to heal our numerous current problems and to continue to bless our wonderful country. This was the seventy-second anniversary of the National Day of Prayer (NDP), and the fourth consecutive year when pastors from different Christian Churches in Greene and Putnam Counties gathered to pray together at Lakepoint Community Church.

Circle of Friends held its 16th annual Dawgy 5K on Saturday. The run took place through the residential streets of Greensboro, starting from Oconee Brewing Despite the rain, a large turnout of dogs and humans supported the run, with all proceeds going to COFAS.

GTHP Expedition will tour historic Eatonton

The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation (GTHP) will showcase the rich history and architecture of Eatonton Aug. 17, during the GTHP Expedition. This event will offer visitors and residents alike a rare opportunity to tour more than 20 of the city’s most historic homes and sites during a day-long, self-guided tour.

OPAS Memorial Day celebration free for kids

The Oconee Performing Arts Society (OPAS) is once more presenting its Memorial Day Weekend Patriotic Celebration, and this year is expanding its reach by including more activities for families, complete with complimentary tickets for children aged 10 and under, allowing them to witness the magic of live performances firsthand.
