The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties has announced the following Students-of-the-Month for April 2024: Elaina Tkacik (Gatewood), Madison Glenn (Greene County High School), Logan Underwood (LOA), Jay Holt (NGA), and Ana Barranco (Putnam County High School).

Eliana Tkacik is a senior at Gatewood High School, with parents Joe and Pam Tkacik. Eliana is involved in Anchor Club as well as many sports, including soccer, softball, and cheerleading. After high school, she plans to attend the University of North Georgia and pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. Lisa McElhannon, her fourth-grade teacher, is Eliana's chosen Gatewood High School Teacher-of-the-Month.

Madison Glenn is a Greene County High School senior. Her parents are Daniell Savoy and her stepfather Charles Jernigan. Madison is an honor roll student, a member of the GCHS Student Sports Medicine Team, and a founder of the GCHS Act Up Club.

She enjoys acting, history, English, and hanging out with family and friends. Madison also volunteers with the GCHS Care Closet, CJ’s Outdoor Maintenance as the Social Media Manager, and throughout her community. Madison said her mother is the person she respects most because of her drive, kindness, and love for her community. After high school, Madison plans to attend Tennessee Wesleyan University to pursue a degree in Theater with a minor in English. Madison selected GCHS Assistant Principal Jessie Draper as her Teacher-of-the-Month.

Logan Underwood is a senior at Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) High School and will graduate with the class of 2024.

After graduation, he plans to attend to Athens Technical College to study Emerging Technologies while working at LOA with the athletic director.

When he has free time during school, Logan helps the athletic director with anything he needs, so it's like an internship for the future part-time job. Otherwise, he spends time with his family either playing board games, having long conversations, or just hanging out with his two dogs.

Logan also works the LOA concession stand during home games like soccer, basketball, and football. He enjoys getting to know people he has never met before and enjoys doing service for the community. Logan loves to help people in any way he can. He selected LOA’s Chris Ingle as his Teacher-of-the-Month.

Jerrold Keith Holt, III (Jay) is the son of April Holt of Greensboro, Lee Heffner of Greensboro, and the late Jerrold Holt Sr. of Eatonton. Jay has attended Nathanael Greene Academy (NGA) for three years, where he played football (11th grade), baseball (10th and 11th grades), and tennis (12th grade).

He also has competed on the shotgun team for five years and Jay coached Little Patriots football for the past two years. Outside of school, Jay participates in the Greene County 4-H program. He also competed in the District Project Achievement in the Food Preparation division. This year, he is in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Program.

After graduation, Jay plans to move to Wyoming to work on a ranch. He will then return home and join the workforce. Jay wants to thank all his teachers and peers at NGA for the memories he will never forget. Michael Lanier is Jay’s chosen Teacher-of-the-Month.

Ana Barranco is a senior at Putnam County High School and her mother is Elidel Hernandez. Ana is an honor roll and dual-enrollment student, a member of the Beta Club, Key Club, International Spanish Club, and National Honor Society, and is on the varsity soccer team.

She also is part of the Junior Board of Directors for Farmers and Merchants Bank. Ana enjoys going to church, hanging out with family, and playing soccer. After high school, she plans to attend college to pursue a degree in accounting.

She sees herself as an entrepreneur in the next 10 years. Kara El-Kadi is Ana's chosen Putnam County High School Teacher-of-the-Month.

The Rotary Club of Greene and Putnam Counties congratulates each of these outstanding students and teachers.
