Another great must-see event was held June 16 at Festival Hall in Greensboro for the second in the series of The Jazz Legacy Project, featuring musicians Justin Varnes, drummer and narrator; Louis Heriveaux, pianist and keyboardist; Kevin Smith, bassist; and John Sandfort on saxophone.

The music of John Coltrane was met with huge applause throughout the 90-minute program, and prior to the main event, the almost-sold-out audience was given a short performance by folk/country group Evergreene, namely sisters Helen, Eliza and Lilly Garcia-Carreras.

Save the date for The Jazz Legacy Project: Billy Strayhorn, Take the A-Train on Oct. 6.
